Introduction[]
Sayama's family owns Saya Mart and he is a former classmate of Hikari. He is one of the few gay characters represented in the show, as he has a crush on his best friend, Egawa Takeshi, however at the end of the series, these feelings remain closeted due to his arranged marriage to his wife, which his father forced upon him, leveraging Saya Mart. Both Sayama and Takeshi get married to women, neither of them being able to communicate about their feelings for one another, and by the end of the show, despite longing for each other, they do not know that they desire each other.
