Miori Shiodome (潮留 みをり, Shiodome Miori) is the first wife of Itaru Shiodome, the mother of Miuna Shiodome and a close friend of Akari Sakishima.
Appearance[]
Miori was a beautiful woman with mid-back length black hair that has asymmetrical fringes swept to the right side with chest-length hair strands hanging in the front and sea-blue eyes from her sea origins.
She bears a striking resemblance to her daughter Miuna Shiodome, but they can be told apart by their different eye colours and bangs.
History[]
Miori was originally from the sea, but she married a human man from the surface named Itaru Shiodome. She was thereby banished from the sea because if she had a baby, it would have no Ena and therefore fewer descendants, but her love gave her a reason to leave the sea. They later had a daughter named Miuna Shiodome, but Miori died a bit after she gave birth to Miuna.
Although Miori is dead, her spirits follows her daughter.
Etymology[]
- Miori's surname Shiodome means "tide, ebb, opportunity" (潮) (shio) and "detain, fasten, halt, stop" (留) (tome/dome), which literally means "halt the tides" altogether.
Trivia[]
- Miori was from Shioshishio, but she moved to the surface to marry Itaru Shiodome.
- Miori's age is never given but it can be presumed by her husband's age, she was either the same age or a bit older; since she was friends with Akari Sakishima.
- It is never stated what Miori died from, but it's more than likely it had something to do with her Ena drying out; it was previously stated that it would be fatal for it to completely dry out.
